After Fledging What Happens Next?

The young Birds stay with the parents for 6-8 weeks, depending on the young owlets age and ability to learn to hunt. There is a lot to learn in the "wild" world that includes the flying and landing part, the whole hunting process which includes setting and watching for prey, targeting prey, being able to scope in on the prey, the ability to lock talons with the prey, learning how to "roll" with the prey, the learning to snap the neck in the prey and then learning what is your predator.
They are all most likely safe and content in a large stand of trees for the day and hunt the golf course and surrounding area at night.

It is a big world out there and there is a lot to learn to survive, it doesn't happen over night. The parents do chase the young that are still around when they are ready to mate for the next year. If a youngster has not learned to hunt and fend for themselves by then they still will run it off so that there is no interference in the next nest. If the young can't hunt they do not survive.
The only exception to this is the "Harris Hawks" since they hunt in packs like wolves so they allow other birds to stay around and help with hunting to
provided food
